Counting Our Votes, "Yes." Buying of Elections, "No!"

-- Discussing What Needs to Be Done In Light of "Citizens United" Supreme Court Ruling

Move To Amend leader, David Cobb

The Move To Amend Barnstorming Tour sponsored by a multipartisan group of concerned citizens, including the Green Party of the US and the Progressive Democrats of America, made its first stop of 13 events throughout Florida at South Miami City Hall Fridayt evening, December 2. The locale for this kickoff was especially significant as that city's council recently endorsed the concept of ending corporate personhood and the human privileges it offers the artificial entities, among others, the ability to be "SuperVoters" with more rights than ordinary citizens and the "right" to be anonymous SuperDonors as well. The event featured former Green Party presidential candidate and inspiring speaker David Cobb, to raise awareness of the damage being wrought to citizens by corporations insisting upon having "rights" just like individual citizens and to inspire our fight to bring an end to corporate personhood!
Besides public meetings and discussions, a number of workshop training sessions are programmed on both the east and west coasts of the state.
MTA spokesperson Cobb pointed out that the Constitution, which enumerates rights of people, and lists the duties that government has to The People, makes no mention of corporations. At every stop, crowds learned that activist Federal Courts had created the concept of corporations as persons, imbuing them with constitutional rights, the same as human beings. Read more.

The Miami-Dade Green Party supports the MTA, the Move to Amend the Constitution, as part of the battle to cease giving "human rights" to corporation entities. America must END CORPORATE "PERSONHOOD!"

NOTE: Due to its nature in questioning and opposing the US wealth-dependent electoral system, the Move to Amend Tour is listed on Occupy Miami's facebook page as an official Occupy Miami event. Also, Cobb addressed the Occupy encampment Friday afternoon, and a contingent of Occupiers were among those who participated at the City Hall meeting in the evening.

Cobb's visit to Occupy Miami, as well as his 7pm presentation in So. Miami, were live-streamed from http://www.occupymia.org/
